Guy Architects & Engineers has an opening for a new Civil/Structural Engineer to join our engineering team, working in our Yellowknife office.
The team focuses largely on the design of residential and commercial buildings and assists clients on projects from concept to completion.

The selected individual will work closely with the other engineers and Architectural team members and should excel at working in a fast-paced, adaptive, and innovative environment.
*Responsibilities:*
* Perform structural analysis and prepare drawings for new buildings and also retrofit plans for existing ones.
* Provide structural design documents of wood, steel and concrete buildings and foundations.
* Conduct site visits to review and assess the existing structures of residential and commercial buildings
* Conduct Construction site visits to review and report on the conformance of the contractors' work
* Conduct a variety of other services such as preparing proposals for new potential projects, project management, by-law compliance, master development plans, municipal permitting, and project cost estimation
*Requirements:*
* Graduated from a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.
* Be registered as a P.Eng. in one of the Canadian Jurisdictions for at least 2 years and be able to stamp the engineering documents. (NAPEG Preferred)
* Have 10+ years of experience in Structural Engineering.
* Ability to read and understand drawings.
* Strong understanding of quality standards for structural design and planning, engineering fundamentals and principles, as well as all relevant codes and jurisdictions.
* Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization, including executives
* Strong problem identification and problem-resolution skills
* Excellent time and project management skills
* High level of sound and independent judgement and reasoning
* Knowledge of NBC Code and CSA standards
* Knowledge of Structural Engineering Software such as Etabs, SAP2000, SAFE, Autodesk REVIT, and MS Office.
