Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Manufacturing or processing industry. Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures. Supervise and inspect the installation of mechanical systems. Investigate mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems. Plan and manage projects, and prepare material, cost and timing estimates, reports and design specifications for machinery and systems. Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : SOLIDWORKS Certification. Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) by a provincial or territorial association. Computer and technology knowledge: SolidWorks software. MS Windows. Computer-aided design (CAD). MS Office. MS Excel. Area of work experience: Operations or production. Research and development. Project management. Project coordination. Design. Project planning. Specialization or experience: 3D Modeling. Area of specialization: Hydraulics and fluids. Robotics or controls. Drafting.
