Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Installation. Urban area. Shop fabrication. Repair. Retrofit. Tasks: Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Operate laser cutters. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification. Operate plasma cutters. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Estimate costs and materials. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Welding techniques: Gas tungsten ARC (GTAW) (TIG). TIG. Tool and die fabrication experience: Metal cutting, forming or bending dies. Type of industry experience: Metal fabrication. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Custom sheet metal items. Decorative metal sheets. Stainless steel equipment. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Tight deadlines.
