Learn more at www.adm.com.About the PositionThis position consists of ensuring the safety of the ADM facility with respect to employee health and safety and compliance. Peer relationships include the Plant Manager, EHS Manager, Production Managers, QFS manager, front line supervisors, and others. This position has strict deadlines with the reports required by internal and external managers. Special attention to detail is required, even when faced with multiple tasks that need to be completed within 24 hours. This position will be directly responsible to the EHS Manager - functionally responsible to the Plant Manager.Duties and ResponsibilitiesConstantly striving to achieve the goal of "Only Zero is Acceptable"through employee engagement, leading by example and thinking about innovationEnsure that a safe work environment is maintained at all times by applying company standards, ensuring that unsafe behaviors and conditionsare corrected, and followed up on during regular inspectionsAssist in accident and incident investigations and follow up on corrective actions resulting from accident and incident investigationsBe a champion of Near Miss reportingHave a working knowledge in Federal law and understanding collective bargaining agreement processWill be involved in the Workplace Health and Safety Committee meetingsProvide mandatory trainings to all managers, hourly colleagues and entrepreneurs on the suitability of these programsInspects facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulationsEnsure that the site is consistently compliant with all regulations, policies and guidelines of ADM, the WSIB as well as provincial and federal governmentsDevelop, implement and maintain current programs, records and reports related to health and safety, government and environmental complianceCommunicate daily to management on issues related to facility safety, food safety and environmental issuesAssist with third-party and regulatory audits in their respective areas of responsibilityAssist in obtaining passing grades by maintaining constant availability during auditsEnsure that corrective action plans are implemented so that any deficiencies identified by an audit are addressed in a timely manner
