Job Description Licensed Practical Nurse ITemporary Call In (2 positions)Location: Forteau, NLThe primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to the patients/residents of the Labrador South Health Centre. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the LGH Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Onsite ManagerQualifications:" Graduation from high school or equivalency;" Graduation from an approved LPN Educational program; " Current registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador;" Successful completion of Breastfeeding Essentials or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated" by employer);" Knowledge of computer skills and an ability to work with Meditech is an asset;" Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);" The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check;Duties: (Included but not limited to)" Completes nursing assessment, consistent with scope of practice;" Participates in the development, revision, implementation and evaluation of nursing care plans;" Provides safe, competent, and ethical nursing care and makes decisions within the LPN scope of practice;" Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient plan of care;" Practices independently according to professional and organizational standards;" Documents according to professional and organizational standards;" Maintains competency and updates knowledge by availing of educational opportunities;" Participates in quality assurance/improvement activities;" Represents nursing on various committees such as Nursing Unit Council and other committees as deemed" necessary;" Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary team;" Keeps current with changes by monitoring communications (i.e. verbal, e-mail, communication book, etc.);" Administers medication;" Other related duties as required; Salary:" CG-29 of the NAPE-HS salary scales $26.54 to $29.48 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.Financial incentives that may be available, and can be combined, include:" Student Bursaries up to $5,000" Long-Term Care Recruitment Bonus of $5,200 " Labrador Grenfell Sign On Bonus up to $16,000 " Possible Relocation assistance and support " A Return in Service is required to avail of incentives.
