General InformationReporting to the Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, the Electrician is responsible for ensuring the continued safe operation of electrical equipment and systems as assigned within the CVRD. The Electrician will carry out efficient electrical troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs of all assigned facility and field electrical systems. Qualifications Grade 12 Minimum five (5) years? recent progressively responsible experience as a Journeyman Electrician in an industrial setting, inspecting, installing, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls Experience in water and wastewater treatment, collection and distribution systems is considered an asset Red Seal Ticketed Electrician Current Canadian Electrical Code Course is considered an asset Valid Class 5 Drivers License First Aid Level 1 Confined Space Rescue Training (provided by the employer) WHMIS Certification (provided by the employer) EOCP Certification in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collection -Levels 1 & 2 (provided by the employer) An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.A full job description listing all the job requirements can be viewed online at careers-cvrd.icims.com.Hours of Work: This temporary full-time position (anticipated to be 12 months) is guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shifts are scheduled based on operational need. The successful applicant must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes a variety of days and hours per week. Salary: This position is unionized (USW Local 1-1937) with a Step 1 wage rate of $39.56 per hour and a Step 2 wage rate of $41.89 per hour (2023 wage rates).
