Job details
Education: Master's degree. Psychology, general. Clinical psychology. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Community service organization. Counselling centres. Rural area. Relocation costs covered by employer. Willing to relocate. Social service or charity agency. Tasks: Conduct program evaluations. Consult with other health care professionals to evaluate treatment plans . Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and the patient's outcomes. Examine the behaviour. Interview clients, prepare case histories and assess problems. Record observations. Supervise graduate students, research assistants, para-professional staff and other psychologists. Supervise other counsellors, social service staff and assistants. Write progress reports . Prepare a treatment plan for each patient. Implement treatment plans. Perform administrative tasks. Apply psychological theory and principles regarding behaviour and mental processes. Develop and implement counselling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them. Counsel clients, provide therapy and mediation services, and facilitate group sessions. Maintain accurate records. Participate in fundraising activities. Initiate, design and implement specialized therapy programs. Identify additional/alternative services and provide referrals. Liaise with community agencies or partners, and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals. Provide suicide and crisis intervention. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Membership in a provincial or territorial psychological association. Accreditation or registration with the appropriate national, provincial or territorial professional association. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS Windows. MS Word.
