Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Collect blood, tissue or other samples from patients
  • Log patient samples and prepare them for testing
  • Set up medical laboratory equipment
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests and sample analyses
  • Clean and maintain medical laboratory and laboratory equipment
  • Conduct quality control assessment of testing techniques
  • Arrange for radiographic examinations of patients for autopsy
  • Clean and maintain autopsy, surgical and other equipment
  • Collect tissue specimens for chemical analysis and record findings
  • Discard specimens according to established safety procedures
  • Dissect, examine, weigh organs
