SSCS is seeking an experienced, driven and innovative Director (full-time, Maternity Leave coverage) to join our team. As the Director, you will be responsible for providing assistance, leadership and organization over the activities in support of the goals and mission of SSCS. You will lead a team of daycare staff, communicate with parents and manage daily administrative operations within the daycare. The Director works closely with their staff to plan and lead activities to promote the physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth of children. The successful candidate must possess strong communication skills and be able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the major accountabilities for this role will include: collaborating with licensing to ensure that all necessary requirements are met, managing monthly billing and bookkeeping, creating and sending out quarterly newsletters to parents, recruiting staff and managing staffing issues, addressing and managing any parent concerns, and updating program plans regularly.
A key success to this role will be building, nurturing and facilitating a program plan that promotes a positive sense of growth. Our program sets goals for the children in all areas of development: Emotional and Social Growth, Physical Health, Creative Growth and Intellectual Growth and it is essential the Director values align with these philosophies.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Must hold a minimum Early Childhood Educator Certificate (Level 3) or recognized equivalent by Alberta Government Licensing department
* First Aid & CPR for Childcare (Level C) or higher
* Minimum three years of administration/management experience in a childcare environment
* Exemplary administrative and organizational skills
* Excellent communication and professional skills
* Competent computer skills in Microsoft Office and be able to manage active social media updates
* Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and program, including working hours outside the Center?s regular hours of operation, as needed
* Experience supervising and directing staff
* Please note - once the terms of the Maternity Leave coverage have been fulfilled, employee may be able to continue work at the center as a full-time levelled staff member, if desired.
