*Position Summary* The Tool and Die Apprentice is primarily responsible for assisting in the tooling process as assigned, performing all the general functions of a Tool & Die Apprentice as listed below, while meeting the established customer requirements. This includes building, modifying, repairing, and troubleshooting dies, tools, jigs and fixtures while working to very close tolerances from blueprints, sketches and samples. *Responsibilities* * Assist and learn how to perform tool repair and construction tasks using personal tools and metal cutting machines and tools provided by the company based on direction from the Tool Maker Lead Hand using the provided stamping tool designs. * Effectively communicates with all company personnel to function as a team player along with their apprentices. * Completes anything that is required to support Tool Maker Lead Hand. * Follows all company Health & Safety procedures. * Seeks opportunities for Continuous Improvement. * Keep shop and work area tidy. * Perform any other duties, as required. *Educational Requirements* * High School Diploma, GED or equivalent * Enrolment in Tool and Die/Machinist Apprenticeship Program is preferred *Skills & Knowledge Requirements* * 1-2 years? experience building, servicing, and improving stamping dies in an apprenticeship program is preferred. * Good understanding of Algebra and Geometry, CAD. * Able to communicate in both written and spoken English. * Good organizational skills, self-starter, and a team player. * Ability to perform well in high pressure situations. * Own basic set of tools. *Working Conditions* * Overtime as required * Day shift * Plant Environment * Exposure to loud noise (ear plugs provided) Tri-Star Metal Stampings Inc. is an employment equity employer and invites candidacies from women, aboriginal peoples, visible minorities, and persons with disabilities.
