Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Dusty. Work setting: Residential. Various locations. Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Measure, cut and fasten underlay and underpadding. Prepare flooring plans and scheduling. Measure, cut and install carpeting on floors. Prepare tenders and quotations. Measure, cut and install resilient floor coverings. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations. Estimate costs and materials. Prepare floors for installations. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Perform direct glue-down carpet installations. Perform double-bond carpet installations. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Gloves. Mask. Personal suitability: Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills. Judgement.
