Job Overview:
The Alberta Seventh Step Society & 7th Step Society of Canada, *?Pardon Me? Project*, providing direct assistance and support to offenders and ex-offenders through the record suspension/pardon application process in Western Canada.
Responsibilities:
· Work with the project team in the delivery of the ?Pardon Me? project activities
· Provide links and follow-up support on an ?as needed? basis
· Assist with travel arrangements for appointments for fingerprinting or to access other documents required to complete a pardon application
· Provide ?hands on? assistance in collecting information and documents required to complete a record suspension/pardon application.
· Distribute and keep accurate records of transportation assistance provided
· Conduct intakes with clients to collect demographics including; age, race, gender and relative information related to pardon eligibility
· Assist with office housekeeping to ensure the space is clean, safe and welcoming
· Keep Project Manager and Program Manager apprised of daily activities and changes or concerns in delivering project activities
· Work directly with partners and government agencies to promote project activities with the aim of streamlining the pardon application process
· Support Project Manager and Program Manager in completing the project deliverables in a timely manner
· Participate in regular team meetings and national project advisory meetings as scheduled
· Keep program data collection and recording up-to-date
*Core Competencies:*
· Proficient in Microsoft, Google Docs and all other relevant computer software and applications
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Must be collaborative, cooperative and have the ability to work without direct supervision
· Must have an innate understanding of the circumstances that lead to involvement with the criminal justice system and ability to respond in a respectful way that is compassionate and promotes dignity
· Must practice *Confidentiality *at all times and ensure that information collected is safe guarded at all times
· Ability to confidently advocate in a professional manner while supporting others in learning to do the same for themselves.
· Take initiative by offering insight and ideas to improve the delivery and efficiency of all project activities
· Ability to transparently work with participants, developing trust and leading others by example
