Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations. Estimate costs and materials. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Prepare floors for installations. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Installation specialization: Vinyl or resilient tiles. Vinyl or resilient sheets. Hardwood strip flooring. Borders or feature strips. Hardwood intricate patterns flooring. Parquet flooring. Cork flooring. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
