1.0 FTE English Teacher Gr. 8-12 <p>Start Date: August 28, 2024<p>St. Thomas More Collegiate, a progressive Blessed Edmund Rice Christian Brother Catholic Independent high school in Burnaby, B.C., is seeking an experienced secondary school educator to join our English department. The successful candidate will be expected to be part of a collaborative teaching team within our English department. The full teaching load to be determined based on the successful candidates experience as well as in consultation with the English Head of Department. <p>STMCs English courses are designed to help students develop into imaginative thinkers, powerful analysts, cogent writers, and informed citizens. By promoting fine writing, keen powers of analysis, and a true love of speaking, we allow students to explore the world of literature through their own experiences.<p>Preference will be given to applicants with previous secondary English teaching experience, and a Bachelors Degree in Education. <p>Potential candidates must be a member, or be in the process of becoming a member, of the British Columbia College of Teachers or hold a BC Independent School Teachers Certificate.
