*Job Description *
The *Senior Accountant* position is responsible for coordinating month-end financial reporting including reconciliation of working papers for multiple companies. This position ensures that the company not only conforms to generally accepted accounting principles for the business, but also to the federal and provincial regulations for collection agencies. Reporting to the CFO, you will be working closely with the Accounting Assistant.
*Responsibilities:*
*Financial*
* Reporting and reconciliation of working papers for both operating companies, including the reconciliation of revenues and receivables between the collection and accounting software, allocation of administrative costs, and review of intercompany transactions
* Bank Reconciliations for 10+ accounts
* Monthly government remittances for GST and QST
* Assist with year-end audit and preparation of audited financial statements
* Assist with client specific compliance requirements
* Maintain internal management reports
*General*
* Support software updates and implementation of new software tools
* Support the roll out of new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and continuous improvement
*Qualifications:*
* Three to five years of professional accounting experience
* University degree in Business/Accounting or equivalent
* CPA designation or successfully passed the CFE
* Advanced knowledge of MS Office (specifically Excel)
* Experience with enterprise accounting software packages
* Familiarity with Great Plains and/or QuickBooks Online would be an asset
* Strong ethics as the role will work with sensitive information, therefore confidentiality is an absolute must. Note that this role will require a criminal background check as required by industry regulations.
* A self-starter individual who is eager to learn and step in wherever capable.
* Experience in a multi-currency organization is an asset
