Slave Lake Christian Academy<p>Previously Slave Lake Koinonia Christian School (SLKCS) Faithfully serving the community <p>of Slave Lake since 1993<p>We are looking to hire a Full-Time Elementary teacher for the 2024/2025 School Year <p>Our Mission: Developing Academic and Spiritual Excellence While Ministering to a Lost and Hurting World <p> This means that we: <p> Teach the Alberta curriculum from a Christian perspective <p> Teach the Bible as a subject and provide worship and Christian service opportunities <p> Teach a wide range of courses to encourage students to grow spiritually, academically, socially, and physically <p> Encourage excellence in character and social development and excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts <p>Author Paul Kienel describes the purpose of a Christian school education as follows:<p>"To present to our children, as clearly as possible, the truth about God, about life and living, about our world and everything in it, and to present the Word of God as the authoritative source upon which to build a life that has purpose and meaning".<p>At our school Biblical truths are integrated into everything being taught. The students are taught to use the Bible to evaluate all of life, and are challenged to see the necessity of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.<p>Slave Lake Christian Academy does not exist to shelter students from the world, rather it is a place where students develop their God-given potential to enable them to make an impact for Christ in every area of their lives. We are an independent, accredited Koinonia Christian Education Society (KCES) and Alberta Independent Schools and Colleges Association (AISCA) Member School. With a smaller staff of about 12, Slave Lake Christian Academy is home to 67 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
