Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Tasks: Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Perform emergency roadside repairs. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Perform preventive maintenance. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Driver's License (Class 1 or A). Transportation/travel experience: Long-haul. National. Security and safety: Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel cross-border. Willing to travel for extended periods. Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees . Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees . Support for youths: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports youth employment. Offers on-the-job training tailored to youths. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youths. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youths. Support for Indigenous people: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers . Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations .
