Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Assist health care professionals. Help pharmacists. Maintain inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products. Prepare medications for clients. Repair, build and modify prosthetic or orthotic appliances or footwear. Apply and adjust casts, splints and bandages. Plan menus and diet for individuals or groups under direction of dietition or nutritionist. Maintain prescription records and inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products. Compound oral solutions, ointments and creams. Help patients complete menus. Advise patients on loss of depth perception. Assist chiropractor with physical examinations. Perform general clerical duties. Prepare and maintain cleanliness of collection areas. Advise patients on care and use of ocular prostheses. Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone and booking appointments. Repair and maintain fabrication and laboratory equipment. Consult with ophthalmologists concerning insertion of ocular prostheses. Order supplies and equipment. Schedule and confirm appointments. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years. Support for persons with disabilities: Provides physical accessibility accommodations (for example: ramps, elevators, etc.). Support for newcomers and refugees: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees.
