Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio. Tasks: Shampoo customers' hair. Apply bleach, tints, dyes or rinses to colour, frost or streak hair. Apply hair extensions. Clean and style wigs and hair pieces. Cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm and style hair. Suggest hair style compatible with client's physical features and preferences. Supervision: 3-4 people. Hair styling techniques: Blow drying. Hair braiding. Iron waving/curling. Extensions. Hair colouring techniques: Dyes/tints. Streaking/highlights. Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Repetitive tasks. Attention to detail. Personal suitability: Client focus. Screening questions: Are you available for shift or on-call work?. Are you available for the advertised start date?.
