Job details
Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Urban area. Clinic. Tasks: Administer budget. Prescribe and administer medications and treatments. Perform and assist in routine surgery. Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases. Participate in health care policy and planning. Advise patients on health care. Hire and train staff. Co-ordinate or manage primary patient care. Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues. Supervision: Staff in various areas of responsibility. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP). Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years. Support for persons with disabilities: Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports persons with disabilities . Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for persons with disabilities . Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities. Applies accessible and inclusive recruitment policies that accommodate persons with disabilities . Support for newcomers and refugees: Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (for example: Ukraine, Afghanistan, etc.) . Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees . Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees . Support for youths: Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youths.
