<p>PSYCHOLOGIST<p>OR PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATE <p>1.0 <p>FTE Permanent <p>The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking<p>qualified applicants for the position of Psychologist or Psychological<p>Associate. Reporting to the Senior Psychologist, the successful candidate will<p>be responsible for the provision of a wide variety of<p>psychological services in schools in a timely and responsive manner. Qualifications:<p> <p>For Psychologist - Doctorate Degree in Psychology, for<p>Psychological Associate Masters degree in Psychology;<p> <p>Registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario<p>in the area of School Psychology.<p> <p>The SCDSB will consider Doctoral Level Graduates who are<p>eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists in the area of<p>School Psychology and are working towards certification. Movement on the salary<p>grid may be limited while working towards certification (**).<p> <p>Registration with the College of Psychologists position is<p>required for the Psychological Associate position. Pertinent Skills and Experience:<p> <p>Three (3) (for Psychological Associate) to (5) (for<p>Psychologist) years related experience in a school board setting preferred<p>although experience in childrens mental health may be considered; <p> <p>May provide clinical supervision to non-registered team<p>members, and carries own caseload;<p> <p>Provides psychoeducational (diagnostic) assessment<p>services;<p> <p>Provides education plan development and implementation and<p>behavioural consultations; Experience in<p>conducting risk assessments would be an asset;<p> <p>Experience in a trans-disciplinary team model (i.e.<p>Psychologists, Social Workers, Teachers, Principals, Attendance Counsellors,<p>Speech and Language Pathologists) preferred or willingness to engage in this<p>model;<p> <p>Provides Special Equipment Allocation (SEA) Claim review<p>consultation and targeted assessment services;<p> <p>As an expert resource for Board staff and central special<p>education staff, school staff and administration, provides information, guidance,<p>and expertise to ensure informed decision making regarding the health and safety<p>of students and quality of psychological services; <p> <p>In-depth knowledge of legislation, codes, and regulations<p>as they pertain to delivery of psychological services, diagnosis and individual<p>education plans, privacy, and confidentiality;<p> <p>Maintains a full range of case files, records and<p>individual plans related to crisis response, conflict resolution, behavioural<p>and emotional counselling, and intervention programs; <p> <p>Opportunities to participate in program development and<p>mental health strategy;<p> <p>Strong oral and written communication skills;<p> <p>Strong computer skills including experience with data<p>management systems, MS Office Applications Word and Excel;<p> <p>Reliable transportation required;<p> <p>The nature of this position will require the successful<p>candidate to service large geographical areas; mileage reimbursement at the<p>Board approved rate.<p> <p>Effective September 1, 2018, the SCDSB will consider<p>candidates for part-time positions. Candidates must work a minimum of 0.5<p>full-time equivalency (FTE).This position works the school year ten (10) months and<p>ten (10) days.
