Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered. Prepare flooring plans and scheduling. Prepare tenders and quotations. Prepare and install hardwood floors. Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings. Conduct moisture, ph, temperature and other tests prior to flooring installations. Estimate costs and materials. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Prepare floors for installations. Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants. Perform direct glue-down carpet installations. Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Ability to distinguish between colours. Hand-eye co-ordination. Own tools/equipment: Tools. Safety equipment/gear. Steel-toed safety boots. Gloves.
