Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Recreational facility/institution. Tasks: Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs. Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse. Empty trash cans and other waste containers. Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings. Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment. Perform minor repairs on appliances. Perform safety and security checks. Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair. Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures. Work with minimal supervision. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Area of work experience: Cleaning. Equipment: Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers. Carpet cleaning machine. Polishing machines. Waxing machine. Steam cleaners. Power tools. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Weight handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
