Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Instruct apprentices. Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts. Keep maintenance reports and documentation. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications. Assist process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing. Perform other routine maintenance. Powered equipment repair specialization: Cable-operated working attachments. Hydraulic-operated working attachments. Compressors. Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts. Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization: Mechanical transmissions. Hydraulic transmissions.
