Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Clinic. Willing to relocate. Private practice. Tasks: Advise on use and care of contact lenses. Examine patients' eyes, conduct tests and use specialized instruments to determine visual efficiency. Prescribe treatment to conserve, improve and correct vision and other ocular disorders. Refer patients to ophthalmologists or other physicians and surgeons when ocular or other diseases are found. Prescribe and administer medications and treatments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Fast-paced environment. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Manual dexterity. Screening questions: Are you currently a student?.
