Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Relocation costs covered by employer. Willing to relocate. Hospital/medical facility or clinic. Tasks: Operate ultrasound imaging equipment to produce and record images. Perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment. Monitor examination to evaluate quality and consistency of diagnostic images, and make adjustments to equipment, as required. Record, store and process scanned images by using camera unit connected to the ultrasound equipment. Observe and care for patients throughout examinations. Prepare examination reports for physicians. Check ultrasound equipment to ensure proper operation. Supervision: 1 to 2 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers Certification. Area of specialization: Abdominal sonography. Obstetrical and gynecological sonography. Peripheral vascular sonography. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Eligible for professional liability insurance.
