The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sports mission is to enhance economic growth and support quality of life by managing the provincial parks system and providing recreation, sport, heritage, and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors. The Ministry is currently seeking dynamic and highly-motivated individuals who are flexible team players for the position of Park Maintenance Workers for provincial park lands within Buffalo Pound Provincial Park. In addition, and when necessary, you may work at our recreational sites located at Lovering Lake and Wood Mountain Historical Provincial Park of Saskatchewan Parks Service. Reporting to the Supervisor, these positions will be involved in the maintenance program. As a Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform a variety of repair and general maintenance activities on buildings, trails, and grounds. You will operate light-to-medium equipment such as light trucks, riding mower, skid steer, power tools and other equipment as directed. You will perform janitorial and sanitation functions and pick up and disposal of garbage and debris. You will assist with the maintenance and care of park facilities and grounds including the pool facilities, at the bison corrals, or at our recreational sites outside the park. You will assist with the monitoring and inspection of the water systems and sewer systems under the direction of the supervisor. This position involves frequent lifting, carrying, and moving supplies and equipment. You will comply with risk management standards, OH&S, Public Health Regulations, WHMIS, and TDG. These positions may be required to supervise staff. The successful candidates will have knowledge of basic cleaning methods (materials, equipment, and methods commonly used in housekeeping/janitorial and sanitation activities); safe equipment and building operation, maintenance, and minor repair. You will have knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S Regulations.- LocationMoose Jaw, SK
