<h3>Job Description</h3><div><p><em><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></em><br />1. Invents, analyzes and designs complex analog and digital circuits to meet specifications. Lead hardware design reviews to demonstrate product and circuit robustness.<br />2. Leads in the development of hardware and system level specifications of moderate complexity.<br />3. Writes and reviews test plans, executes or supervises testing, evaluates and reviews test results for use in peer reviews and for project notebooks.<br />4. Prepares and maintains accurate project or program plans. Provides detailed labor estimates.<br />5. Leads multiple projects or programs of moderate complexity. Participates in the executive project processes.<br />6. Leads engineers, associate engineers, and technicians in the product development processes. Mentors and coaches other engineers.<br />7. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.<br />8. Understand. Create. Simplify.<br />9. Other duties as assigned.<br><br><em><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></em><br />B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience<br />Typically 3+ years of experience in at least 2 of the following areas:<br />-- Analog circuit design<br />-- Digital design with microprocessors<br />-- Power supply design<br />-- Digital design with emphasis on Programmable Logic including:<br />-- VHDL/Verilog<br />-- <span class="long-word">Xilinx/Altera/Micro</span> Semi Tools<br />-- Simulation, Timing, Analysis, and Synthesis</p><p>-- Automation Scripting Tools {Python, TCL, Bash}</p><p>-- Assembler programming experience<br />Demonstrated ability to mentor others<br />Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills<br />Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities<br />Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment<br />Background check results satisfactory to SEL<br />Negative drug test result(s)<br><br><em><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></em><br />Supervisory experience or training<br />Knowledge of one or more of the following:<br />-- Industrial controls<br />-- 3-phase and electric power systems<br />-- Electric utility telecommunications<br />Strong project management knowledge and skills</p><p> </p><p><strong><em>Location Information</em></strong></p><p><strong>Burnaby, BC</strong>-This position is located in Burnaby, BC, east of Vancouver.
