Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work Setting: Various locations. Tasks: Measure and mark sheet metal according to template. Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal. Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces. Cut materials using power tools or by hand. Assemble, erect and install hoisting and rigging equipment. Fit and join sheet metal parts. Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Physically demanding. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Handling heavy loads. Tight deadlines. Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Safety glasses/goggles. Gloves. Tools. Personal Suitability: Client focus. Dependability. Effective interpersonal skills. Judgement.
