Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Personal Support Worker Certificate. Health Care Aide Certificate. Nursing Aide Certificate. Experience: Experience an asset. Additional Skills: Serve meal trays and feed patients. Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties. Make beds and maintain patients' rooms. Maintain inventory of supplies. Supply and empty bed pans. Assist with the set-up and maintenance of traction equipment, cleaning or sterilizing equipment, maintaining and repairing equipment, and assembling, setting-up and operating job-related equipment. Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Work Setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Specific Skills: Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher. Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse. Supervise patients' exercise routines. Provide personal care. Provide companionship. Launder clothing and household linens. Collect specimens. Bathe, dress and groom patients. Answer call signals. Administer bedside and personal care. Feed or assist in feeding. Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Administer first aid in emergency situations. Accompany patients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort. Security and Safety: Immunization records. Tuberculosis test.
