Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Metal Forming or Shaping Operations Experience: Forming. Cutting machine. Bending. Equipment and Machinery Experience: Saws. Hand tools. Computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Experience: Experience an asset. Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Work Setting: Metal product fabrication industry. Specific Skills: Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Position heated or cooled metal pieces on die of press or other forging machinery. Operate presses or other forging machines to perform hot or cold forging to shape or form metal. Operate machines or equipment which weld, solder, bolt, screw or rivet metal parts together. Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Document work completed. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Work Site Environment: Noisy. Dusty. Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination.
