Education: Bachelor's degree. Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks). Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook. Experience: 5 years or more. Additional Skills: Recruit, train and supervise staff. Specific Skills: Oversee the setting of transportation service rates and monitor revenue. Negotiate for services and preferential rates. Establish and implement policies and standards for the transportation and storage of goods. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Ensure transport compliance with regulations. Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods. Monitor company's or department's performance, prepare reports for senior management, and plan for changes to schedules and policies. Arrange for shipping documentation and the tracking and tracing of goods in transit. Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations.
