Our schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.<p>We are seeking a creative, dynamic, committed professional to join our team: <p> Information Systems Specialist (Aspen), Term<p> 100% Term Assignment to August 25, 2025<p> Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week, 12 month work year<p>ESP Level 6: $43,749 to $55,890 per annumUnder the direction of the Team Lead, Information Systems, the Specialist provides training and support to district staff on corporate systems focusing on the student information system product suite (Aspen). The student information system collects, maintains, and reports on the formal academic records for current and former OCDSB students and includes data on registration, attendance, scheduling, enrollment, achievement, and programs.<p>The team of Information Specialists work with both school and board staff on ministry reporting to generate funding, data standards, business rules, and ministry guidelines. This role also supports the continual development of technological expertise and participates in the expansion and modernization of the suite of products.<p>Candidates will be shortlisted based on their knowledge and experience with Aspen. Qualifications Post secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Technology, Business or related field; and 3 to 4 years of related experience, including Adult Education and Training. An equivalent combination of education and experience may all be considered. <p> Knowledge of relevant Board policies and procedures, Ministry regulations, policies and guidelines that govern educational data and Ontario Curriculum. <p> Knowledge and experience with Student Information Systems (i.e. Aspen, OnSIS, Xello, EQAO, School Messenger etc.); and technical knowledge to support and troubleshoot computer applications. <p> Written communication skills required for creating documentation and training materials. <p> Interpersonal and communication skills to exchange and clarify information with board employees; <p> Ability to use judgement, tact, diplomacy and discretion; <p> Organization and time management skills required to prioritize work and manage multiple priorities. <p> Presentation skills for facilitating workshops and support sessions. <p> Ability to work independently and learn new technology quickly; <p> Analytical, research and technical skills; <p> Access to reliable transportation when required to visit schools or administrative sites.
